When sex hurts, intimacy can quickly become something you brace yourself for or even avoid rather than something you look forward to.
You may have been told to relax, use more lubricant, have a glass of wine, or simply keep trying. Perhaps penetration has always been difficult, or pain has developed over time. You might now notice your whole body anticipating discomfort before anything sexual has even begun.
As a Psychosexual & Relationship Therapist, I have worked with women experiencing vaginismus, painful penetration and fear around sex, helping them understand what is happening in their body and begin rebuilding safety, confidence and trust.
I wanted to create a gentle, practical online programme to help you understand the cycle of pain, fear and avoidance and begin with a number of practical and body based interventions helping you move towards intimacy and pleasure at a pace that feels right for you.
Who Is This Programme For?
This is for the woman who
Experiences pain, tightness or difficulty with penetration.
Has been diagnosed with, or suspects, vaginismus.
Feels anxious or fearful before attempting penetration.
Finds her body automatically tenses, closes down or pulls away.
Has started avoiding sex because she worries it will hurt.
Feels frustrated, embarrassed or disconnected from her body.
Wants to explore intimacy and pleasure without penetration being the measure of success.
Through education, body awareness, nervous-system regulation and gentle practical exercises, you will begin developing a different relationship with your body, intimacy and penetration.
Work through the materials in your own time, with 24/7 access.
Your body is not something you need to battle.
Pain deserves to be understood.
Pleasure begins with safety, trust and permission and you are allowed to take your time.
